I normally do not give books five stars. However, this book is the exception. I really enjoyed the way the author weaved together this storyline and kept you guessing until the very end. This is now officially one of my favorite YA authors. I highly recommend this work for those students who are reluctant readers who need an exciting text to read. The author does a good job of pulling you in from the first page and keeping you engaged in the story.Product details

Gloria Dotson-Lewis has done an excellent job with writing this story. I absolutely enjoyed it. The author uses vivid descriptions in every scene. I was hooked to the story from the very first page. I finished reading this book in one day. I was angry at Makenzie for the poor decisions that she made. I was screaming at her. Makenzie was very disrespectful. She is what you might call, a menace. I was also shaking my head at her. There is so much drama in the story that made my jaw drop, and caused my eyes to expand. The constant fight scenes and the arguments between the characters kept me glued to the pages. I was saying out loud, "Oh snap!" I liked the message of the story. Very encouraging, and enlightening. Makenzie's friends Mya, and Issayah were awesome. I liked the close bond that they shared. Mya was crazy. She had me laughing out loud. I laughed when Makenzie and Robyn exchanged insults. Certain scenes were depressing. There were tears in my eyes. I felt rage building up inside of me when I found out the secrets in the story. The book was very realistic, and very well-written. I felt every emotion coming from each character. I read the author's previous book, Ninety-Nine Problems which is another excellent novel. I like the way Gloria writes her stories. She is able to entertain her readers, as well as provide a strong message that you will always remember. I highly recommend this book. This is an excellent novel, especially for teens, young adults, and parents. This book deals with realistic themes. You will absolutely enjoy this story. I can't wait to read Gloria's next book.
